Sourcing Host Employment is a fantastic service provided by Advantage Injury Management Services to assist workers back in to work when they are unable to return to their Employer for light or suitable duties. Host employment gives the client an opportunity to graduate their tolerance and capacity for work in an environment that is suitable, given their currently physical or psychological ability. The host program can occasionally lead to opportunities of employment and if not it provides a positive, caring and suitable environment in terms of building on their current skills and abilities whilst rehabilitating.
A prime example of a host employment success story is a client who was initially resistant to participate in the host employment program. The doctor’s restrictions were for the client to complete sedentary work, which was outside of the client usual skill set as a Concreter. Advantage IMS placed the client in an administrative position, which accommodated his physical restrictions. My client at first was hesitant and believed that he didn’t have the skills required for the position. Advantage IMS and the great staff at the host employer encouraged and supported our client throughout the program. Not only did my client learn new skills as he was recovering, but his confidence in his abilities also developed. As such, my client has been offered permanent role and is excited by his prospects and his new future.
