Host employment is a program funded by Insurance Companies, assisting injured workers back into work if they are unable to return to their normal duties. The program is a gradual return to work. The program aims to test the injury in a realistic work environment thus giving the worker experience in a different field of employment, references and potential for full time employment if the opportunity arises.
A host employer is an employer who agrees to have an injured worker in their workplace when a worker has sustained a physical or physiological injury. During rehabilitation many clients have physical and mental challenges, concerns with their injury progress, job status and future prospects. Advantage Injury Management Services monitor and support our clients throughout the program addressing any concerns. Together Advantage IMS, the client, host employer and treating Doctor co operate together to achieve the best possible return to work outcome.
An example of a great outcome through host employment is a previous client who suffered a severe hand injury and could not return to her Administration position. Our client who had a keen interest in music was placed in a host employment placement at a popular music store where she started out with light duties and gradually was able to increase her fine motor skills as well as her confidence. Our client was offered fulltime employment and in time was offered a Management position. This is just once instance of many outstanding outcomes through the Host Program. Win Win!
