Why would a worker benefit from Job Search Training?
Unfortunately after a person has sustained an injury, there are two main possible outcomes as to why they require job seeking assistance:
- Their job is no longer available with the same pre-injury employer.
- They are unable to return to their pre-injury role (need to source alternate employment options).
The goal of job search training is to provide the worker with the skills to search for and gain meaningful employment in a suitable role/environment following an injury.
We provide job search training at a variety of different levels to our clients:

- Identifying transferable skills
- Providing resume assistance
- Reviewing basic computer skills
- Reviewing email skills
- Providing information and assisting on how to use a variety of resources to assist in searching for employment (online, local newspapers and networking)
- Assisting with writing applications and selection criteria
- Providing interview preparation and conducting mock interviews
After gaining a comprehensive understanding of what our clients want to gain out of the sessions, our skilled Occupational Therapists are able to identify the focus areas of the above or any other specific requirements.
Advantage Injury Management Services can offer one off sessions, to review resumes, cover letters and the skills required to look for and apply for employment, to ensure a client has the appropriate skills or requires some assistance. However, we also offer consecutive sessions (weekly or fortnightly) which we feel are the most beneficial. This allows us and provide monitoring and assistance throughout the job seeking process to reach an optimal outcome.
If you or your employees may benefit from Job Search Training, contact our friendly staff today to more information.
