Job Search Training

Advantage Injury Management Services offers job search training to assist injured workers return to work in a new job. Unfortunately, some injuries and illness will cause long term restrictions that prevent workers from returning to their original employment. Should this occur, then Advantage Injury Management Services will work with the injured worker providing job search training and support to help them succeed in their job seeking efforts.
The goal of our job search training is to assist an injured worker to identify an appropriate alternative employment role and ultimately secure meaningful, paid employment.
Job search training programs include:
Our job search training programs are tailored to meet the needs of the worker, and may include all or some of the following:
- Vocational assessment or transferable skills analysis
- Self assessment to assist in identifying transferable skills
- Career counselling
- Provision of an email address, and support in how to use email
- Basic computer training
- Resume writing
- Job seeking through a range of medium, such as internet, local newspapers, networking
- Application writing and selection criteria
- Monitoring and support through the job seeking process
- Interview preparation
- Mock interviews
Job search training programs vary in duration, based on the motivation and commitment of the injured worker. We understand that job seeking can be a lengthy process, and offer ongoing support and monitoring to assist injured worker’s to remain committed to the activities. Advantage Injury Management Services will provide practical sessions with a ‘hands on’ approach to job placement. Internal redeployment and external job search will be considered. Clients will be provided with homework exercises to complete each week. They will also be set targets for time commitments to job search activities. Homework and targets will be summarised in a contract between Advantage Injury Management Services, the worker and the insurer.
Ideally, Advantage Injury Management Services recommends a minimum of 6 sessions of training, completed over a 12 week period, however all programs are tailored to meet clients needs.
